THE PROBLEM
Because of their life circumstances in their early months, many of our adopted children did not experience the movement they needed in order to integrate their infant reflexes and allow their brains to fully develop. In orphanages, in particular, babies spend lots of hours lying still in cribs, though this can be true in other care situations as well.
Research clearly shows that unless a child is moving around in their world, the wiring in their brain does not make complete connections. Without complete and connected wiring, without integration of the infant reflexes, everything these children do is such HARD WORK. The child struggles, until one day they reach a place where there is literally more expected of them than their systems can handle, and they shut down.
This shut down can look like ADHD, or learning disabilities, or autism, or depression, or rebellion, or drug and alcohol abuse … it has several different faces. The bottom line is the underlying neurodevelopment was not complete, no more ‘learning’ can be piled on that weak system, and it collapses.

For some children this happens in the pre-school years, when they do not have sufficient brain connections to support language development or appropriate behavior in group settings; for some it comes in first grade when they cannot learn to read; for some it comes in third grade when they still do not know 2+1; for some it happens in middle school when they cannot manage transitions and peer interactions; others get into high school with inadequate comprehension of both oral and written language, poor study skills, and a disorganized approach to life in general.
What is Heartsent Learning Solutions?
There is an answer for these children and the families who love them: Heartsent Learning Solutions. This is a neurologically based program of movement therapy and academics.
